Lego Maersk Container Ship Display Case

Lego Maersk Container Ship in a Display CaseLego seems to be getting more and more popular every year, and not just being used by children, this container ship was built by Johno Robertson (an adult and one of our customers) and displayed in one of our custom sized display cases.
The enjoyment doesn't just come from building with Lego bricks, but the finished model also looks very good, and can be displayed effectively in your front room.

Skeleton Clock Display Cover

We are increasingly making more display cases for skeleton clocks, This could be due to an increase in the popularity of this hobby, it is certainly a very useful  and interesting object to have in your house.
This clock is unusual for a skeleton clock in that it has a revolving seconds hand and a long pendulum swing making the clock look alive the excellent acrylic case shows this off to advantage and protects the clock from the steam and smoke of the kitchen !!
An acrylic display case is a perfect companion for your skeleton clock as it will protect it from dust, as well as the steam and smoke of the kitchen. Once the clock gets damp it is prone to rusting, as well as making the dust harder to remove.
Buying the display case from Widdowsons means you not only get a top quality product, you get it made to the perfect size to show your clock to its best.
You can get a custom sized acrylic display case with a wooden base here. Just enter your sizes for an instant quote, you can also choose your own base colours to best match your clock and its surroundings.
The customer who made the clock in the image made his own base and we just supplied the cover.

Tower of London Poppy Display Case is Here

We have just received our poppy and have made the display case for it, see image below. We initially wanted to display it on its stem, but due to the length of it we decided to display just the ceramic flower. We washed the dirt off of the black centre of the poppy and laid that in place, and used a small acrylic stand to display the certificate at the back, we believe it creates a very nice and practical display for your poppy if you wanted to display it inside rather than in the garden. If ordering from our website then the base is available in eighteen different colour combinations, though we preferred the green as it showed off the red very well.

View it and buy on our website www.acrylicdisplaycases.co.uk

New Premises and a Model Ship

Its been a while since our last post, the reason for this is that we have moved to new premises and we have been so busy over the last six months setting everything up again we haven't had time to post. As well as the move to new premises we are very pleased to have invested in several new machines to improve the quality of our product even more, you will see from reading the reviews on our website that our customers are among the happiest in the land. Thankyou to all who had the time to write a review.

Also a reminder that if you have a story behind your display case please share with us by email so we can post on this blog, or share on one of our social media sites.

We have here an image sent in by Jim, one of our happy customers, to protect his HMS Victory model, he received the display case for his 60th birthday and had an oak shelf professionally fitted to support the model and display case. This is not something we would normally recommend as it would be heart-breaking if it fell off the wall, but this has proved very successful for Jim, he must have very strong walls.

From Within a Book

Emma Taylor is a very unique artist, she works with old books and creates sculptures from within the pages, they have to be seen to be believed, the theme of the sculpture can be inspired from the book title, size or cover.
Emma uses wire, wadding and strips of the book pages to create the sculpture and the impression the sculpture is emerging from the book.
More information can be found at her blog, as well as some very fine examples of her work.

To protect these delicate works of art, Emma has used our custom display cases, which were made to the exact size she needed. More information on the display cases can be found here.

Display Case for the TitanFall Collectors Edition

The latest edition to our range of display cases is for the Titanfall Collectors Edition, we have decided to make this with the modern black base as the gloss black acrylic goes nicely with the metallic colouring of the model. You can see a video of the display case below, or you can buy it from our website at http://www.widdowsonsltd.co.uk/dc/Titanfall-Statuette-Display-Case.html.
This is a fairly lightweight model for its size, and has many small difficult to dust parts so we are sure you will benefit from one of our acrylic display cases to protect it. If you would like a pen sized hole drilled into the side to enable you to poke a pen into it and press the button on the base of this model then please choose that option from the menu on the ordering page of our website.

We will ship it worldwide, so distance is not an object. If you want this made to a different size or with a different colour or style of base then please let us know.
